Journal Entry #1: Digital Security

When it comes to digital security and creating passwords, what I find the most surprising is how easy it is for computers to figure out passwords nowadays. It is kinda mind blowing how much thought you have to put into a single password.  When I tested the password I created or the one I most commonly use, the website told me it would take a computer 3 thousand years to crack. Based on the information in this section, I think most of my passwords are not secure enough. I usually choose things that are easier to remember when creating passwords and don't give them very much thought, after all most passwords I create are only for social media sites. KeePas however, offers features that would help with managing my passwords like a master password that consist of all your passwords put together into one. As well as strong security, multiple user keys, and a strong random password generator. However, when considering password selection and digital security, I believe the most important thing to remember is what the password is protecting and it's importance to you, as well as obviously being able to remember that password and keep it protected as you will need it in the future.
