Journal #5: Digital Wellness
I have considered how technology can have a negative effect on my health and wellness before. Some days I find myself getting sucked into the world of technology and staying on my phone for hours. It is so much that it gets me stuck in a slump feeling gross and drained. Ever since the first time this has happened, I have been considering the negative effects that technology can have on my health and well-being. Some activities you can do to step away from technology and connect with other people while staying activated and focused is by playing games that do not involve technology like board games that challenge you to think as a team, card games that activate your mind, and sport-like games that allow you to connect with other while being unplugged and active. When it comes to Digital wellness and young people, the biggest problem I think involved is the unhealthy relationship that most teens and tweens have with technology and social media. Technology and the internet should be used to find information, to entertain, and to express oneself. Not to bully, spread rumors, or to build yourself up by tearing others down.
