Journal #6: Digital Business
What I find the most surprising abut this unit is how easy it is to pay for things unknowingly, and give away your information to people like hackers and criminals. I have heard of apps like PayPal before but have never heard of Google wallet or Apple Pay. From my understanding, Apple pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service by Apple Inc. that lets users make payments using apple appliances. Almost everybody in my family has purchased something online and my experiences have been a variety of things from items arriving way past the original arrival date and looking a lot better quality online, to looking exactly the same as online in person and receiving what I have paid for. However, I have never sold anything online before. What I think the biggest issue for young people when buying or selling things online is that most teens/tweens can not tell a secure site apart from an unsafe one. This leads to multiple scams, scandals, and unwanted experiences like children buying overpriced items unknowingly.
