Journal Entry #4: Digital Etiquette

When it comes to digital etiquette, what I find the most surprising is how easy it is for companies to have you agree to terms you do not agree with through their terms & conditions. No, I do not think that most internet users read or concern themselves with the terms and conditions agreements when joining a site or online service. I think people should be concerned and read all of the terms and conditions before signing up for a site in case there are some conditions in fine print that you do not agree with, or in case that company is trying to get information from it's users. I would say my online behavior is ranked at around a 7. This is because I myself honestly never really read the terms and conditions before agreeing and signing up for different sites or apps, and sometimes post things without really thinking that I regret posting later, although that doesn't happen too  often. One thing I will take away from this unit in order to improve my online behavior would be to look over the terms and conditions of websites before agreeing. Personally when it comes to digital etiquette in young people, I think the biggest issues would definitely be about Terms & Conditions like mentioned above, and following the '5 Social Media rules for Teens and Tweens.'
