My Basic Automobile Design

Image
Freeze Machine*         I decided to use a van/SUV type of body style to base my design off of, I got the idea of designing a little ice cream truck then went from there. Some features that I would want included in the final design that I may not have been able to include in this basic first phase design are just little things like doors on the sides and in the back, a sliding door that opens up the side window, and added details on things like the ice cream cone on the top. I will name my car the Freeze Machine* and I think perhaps an ice cream company paired with any car manufacturer would be best suited to introduce my car into the industry. Any type of driver that sells ice cream would most likely find my car appealing as it would attract attention to their company. I would place this assignment at a 6/10 for difficulty as it took a bit of time to get used to Tinkercad's controls and to come up with a creative idea for the design.

3D Printed Car

Yes, I think 3-D printing can help car designers as cars can be manufactured much faster with less back breaking work. I think cars were sooner or later going to become manufactured this way as the technology we have nowadays is capable of doing crazy things like printing car parts. If I had a 3-D printer, I think I would print out furniture for my room. If I were to design a car I think I would use a SUV or Sedan body style, because I enjoy driving in SUV's and I think I would have a lot of creative freedom using a Sedan body type as my base.

Automobile Body Styles and Design

Automobile Body Styles Truck https://pixabay.com/en/truck-farm-chevy-agriculture-2746716/ Trucks were designed with a flat, open bed for hauling a variety of desired cargo. Regular cab trucks provide single row seating while an extended cab adds rear seat room for additional passengers. Most double row seated trucks have four doors, while single rowers typically have two. There is a variety of different options and truck types that offer different features like two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive,  full-sized trucks, half-ton and mid-size trucks, as well as a large range of engine choices.  Van https://pixabay.com/en/house-parked-pavement-road-street-1834826/ Having the ability to with hold a large amount of passengers and cargo, vans were designed for practicality. Depending on the type of van, it can be larger or smaller than the average car, SUV, or truck. The average amount of seats available in most vans is 7, but in larger vans there can be up to 15 sea...

Careers and Certification in the Automotive Industry

Careers in the Automotive Industry. Don't Overlook Automotive Technology as a High-Tech Career Path.  Some of the high-tech systems on automobiles today that were unheard of 30 years ago are stability and traction control systems, adaptive cruise control, and variable valve timing. Y oung people should have skills in  math, science, communications and technical skills to have  a career as an automotive technician. S ome advantages in obtaining an education as an automotive technicians versus other high-tech educational options are  automotive technology careers can begin after just two years of education causing less college debt.  The automotive technician field is   expected to add 237,500 new jobs with a growth rate of 30 percent up to 2020. While more and more jobs are getting moved overseas like accounting services, customer call-center work, and computer programming, automotive technicians are fairly 'immune' to this. Some o ther positi...

Emerging Technologies and Automobiles

Technologies in Development. --> Out of the six emerging technologies discussed in the article I read, the one that I believe is the least likely to happen is the Networked Car.  I think this because, to me it seems rather unlikely that there will be  two-seat driverless electric vehicles that communicates speed, location, and availability with other cars on our highways in the future.  --> Out of the six emerging technologies from the article, the one I think will have the biggest impact on society is the part-helicopter Flying Car.  I think it will help the amount of car accidents to go down as flying is actually safer then driving.  --> Out of the six emerging technologies, the one I think is almost a reality or may already be part of newer automobiles is the Next-Gen Active Safety sensors. These sensors would be installed into the steering wheel and seat belts and I think this new technology would be the easiest to install casually and ef...

The History of the Automobile

Carl Benz. The automobile has been around for approximately 120-130 years. According to the Dictionary, a  patent  is  a  government authority or license conferring a right or title for a set period, especially the sole right to exclude others from making, using, or selling an invention.  When Carl Benz obtains a patent for his invention in 1886, he uses the title  Patent Motor Car . In August of 1888, Carl's wife Berta steps in and drives the  Patent Motor Car  with her two eldest sons which births the first Petrol Station. With the  axial pivot steering system,  Benz    solved the problem of steering the front two wheels simultaneously. When  Benz&Co  and  The Diamond Motor Company  merged, the new company was named  Mercedes Benz.  As a pioneer in technology, Carl Benz experienced something that most other pioneers do not; he lived to see his dream come true.  Henry Ford and t...
